Questionhi,i have a 1991 alfa romeo spider velocoe auto trany.
1 for a while now 10-15 min into driving the car seems like starving for gas then shuts off.when i start it up it start right up few min later it does the same. ive changed the gas filter and all the fuses and realys in the fuse panel. did not help.
2 rpm is too hight it goes to like 4000rpm when changing to secound and about 6000 whn it goes to thierd and it stays there while on thierd. what i sthe problem there?
3 rpm and speedometer dont allways work, some time s one work sometimes the oher nd sometimes both, but most of the times both dont work.
AnswerSounds like a case of deferred maintenance because you have too many problems.
For the stalling, step one is to check the volumn and pressure of the fuel pump. If that proves ok then the ignition module becomes a suspect as well as the ignition switch.
For the high rpm look for an air leak between the airflow meter and the intake manifold gaskets.
For the instrument panel you probably have bad crimp connections.
