American Motors: AMC Marlin, brake assemblies, calipers

Question
Hi, I have a 66 Marlin. My front brakes are shot is there any other brake assemblies that will work on the 66 with disc/ dual calipers? Also, how do I adjust the richness of the 327 Holley OEM carb? Thanks,

Answer
Try using calipers, spindles and rotors from a later model AMC.
There are idle mixture screws on each side of the carburetor located in the metering block. With the engine at operating temperature at idle, slowly turn each screw clockwise and watch the RPM. DO NOT over tighten. When it starts to drop, reverse direction of the screw until the engine RPM reaches it's highest RPM. Make sure the choke is open.
