American Motors: hesitation, cj 5, carburetor

Question
I have a 1977 cj-5 and when you push the gas (sometimes) it hesitates as if it's low on gas. Do you have any ideas?

Answer
It could be something as simple as adjusting the accelerator pump in your carburetor. Also, possibly the automatic choke and metering rod could need adjusting. Find a good mechanic familiar with carburetors.
Make sure your ignition timing is set, too.
