American Motors: 61 rambler generator, voltage regulator

Question
I recently replaced my voltage regulator and had my generator rebuilt due to both not working correctly. I replaced the voltage regulator first and after that the generator dummy light came on.Prior to this the light was off but the generator wasnt holding a full charge. I then had the generator rebuilt and installed that. The dummy light is still on but the generator seems to be working fine. I repolarized the voltage regulator like the tech book says too, what do I need to do to make the light go off?

Answer
You say the generator is working fine. How are you checking it and what results do you come up with? I don't understand when you say the generator wasn't holding a charge. A generator charges or doesn't charge. Who did you get to rebuild the generator? Did you polarize it when it was installed? Please let me know.
Thanks,
Kevin
