American Motors: amc transmission, output shaft, 727 torqueflite

Do you know if the output shaft and transfer case adapter on an AMC 727 torqueflite would bolt up to a chrysler 727 case. I know the internals are the same. I want to adapt a 440 and this would be an easy way if it will work?
