Audio Systems: Best Amp for my car and speakers, focal polyglass, component speaker system

Question
I have read some of your answers and i believe they are good. So here is my question.
I have a 2011 Honda Civic and looking to upgrade my speaker system but would like to keep my current unit. Im looking at either
Focal Polyglass 130 VR
5-1/4" component speaker system
or
Boston Acoustics SR50
5-1/4" component speaker system
I dont want to waste money and I want good sound quality over loudness.
What amp do u think would work with my current unit and the speakers above.

Thanks, Mark

Answer
Some Honda's have very shallow depth for mounting the speakers.  Don't know about the 2011 models but you should check the depth of the speaker you choose to make sure it will fit all the way in.

I have no opinion on loudspeakers because the sound quality is greatly effected by the performance of the speaker when installed into its space.  The same speaker may sound very good in one vehicle and very poorly in another even though the installations are very similar.

The best solution is to make sure they are returnable if they don't sound good when installed; install them carefully so they can be returned without showing any damage.  Most speaker suppliers will require a restocking charge of some kind, however.

I am partial to BA as they have good engineering - BUT the installation and acoustic response of the mounting/enclosure and space of the car make big differences.

All the best.
