Question
I own a boss bv9976 in dash DVD/CD reciever flip out and I recently installed it and I hooked everything up and when I turn the key on the radio doesn't come on I have to press the power button everytime and each time my settings are lost and I have to reset them all over again I read the manual and it said rewire the 12 volt and constant so I did and its the same result but another thing is I have to wire my constant and 12 volt together just so it'll come and work so if u have any solutions it will be greatly appreciated

Answer
It is unlikely the deck is bad. If you think it may be bad, test it (out of the vehicle).
As to proper wiring in the vehicle:
You need to use a test light (or a multimeter) to determine which vehicle tap is actually 'hot' when key is on (switched power) and which tap is hot all the time (constant power for station memory).
You should also be sure the ground is securely attached to bare metal at the vehicle chassis. Do NOT use a factory ground wire unless you are absolutely positive it is the ground!
Always read that manual before you start installing. :)
