Audio Systems: cd changer, ford expedition, cd changer

I have a 1997 ford expedition and the cd changer acts like it is going to play a cd and then it goes to the next cd. It will actually start spinning the cd. I have cleaned it and I have made sure that all the cds are clean and work in another cd player. What should I do to get this to work?

I am not kidding: It is time for (at least) a headunit upgrade.
You can get something for well under 100.00 that can play hundreds of hours of music via USB which will never skip or get scratched.
