Audio Systems: GM Factory DVD Install, serial data input, panasonic dvd player

QUESTION: I have a 06 Silverado with a Bose 6 disc cd changer. I am trying to add a Panasonic dvd player but it needs a class II serial data input to turn on and off. Is there a work around for this serial data input or an aftermarket item available like the item DVD keeper made for ford cars and trucks?

QUESTION: The factory DVD is a Panasonic system. Unfortunately not just any DVD player.

ANSWER: is this a factory  dvd player ? out of what vehicle ?

if yuou can find the correct wiring harness and plug that into the 12 pin plug behind the radio it will work
you need a radio that comes with a BAND button and CD/AUX button, radios with am/fm buttons don't work
also the vehicle needs to go to the dealer and the radio flash memory needs to be reprogram
you need to use a gm scan tool for that

also the dvd needs to be from 2003 to 2006 only  2007 and is land-buss
