Nissan Repair: 88 nissan 300zx

I cannot pass smog due to my CEL not defaulting/working? all my other "idiot lights" work, but my CEL. ive already tried the bulb, ripped the dash out, everything looks like it was from the factory, wrapped and all. im at a loss of what to do now? can you help me?

Hi Holly -

Have you tried to take it to see if there is an OBD code locked in? Any Autozone can do that. Sometimes erasing an existing code may reset the light.

There is one thing you can try. Disconnect the battery (negative side), or pull out the ECM fuse for at least 20 seconds and replace. That may work to bring the light back.
