Audio Systems: kenwood amp not working (car audio), kenwood kac, output transistors

Question
I have a kenwood kac-x812d' it was working good for a few weeks till the other day I had it turned up then it quit, i looked back at it and the red light was flashing and the display was flashing or dimming with a e-03. I have tried to reset and it still does the same thing. I was running it at 1OHM. Now even if the only thing I have hooked up to it is the power, ground and remote still the same

Answer
Seems maybe the output stage has blown.

Do this: Remove power from the amp completely for at least 15 minutes. This will reset the protection circuit inside the amp.  Then power it up with no load and inputs disconnected.  See if it clears. If not, the output transistors are probably shot and will need repairs.

It's a great amp. Well worth a few bucks to fix it up and get it cranking again.

PS: check the subwoofer and the wiring; if it has a shorted voice coil wires which are touching  and  is placing a low impedance load on the amp that could be the source of the problem.
