Audio Systems: 2005 Ford Taurus SEL Radio, ford taurus sel, 2005 ford taurus

I just purchased a used 2005 Taurus SEL that has a am/fm 6 disc cd in the dash and there is no response when I push the on/off button.  I read another posting of yours that said the actual radio is in the trunk. I don't have the car right now so I can verify this, (or see if one is missing!)but I was wondering what I can do in the way of trouble shooting, beyond checking the fuse, to see if the is a power issue is a line issue or the radio is just kaput. The dealer I bought the car from was not very helpful other than telling me the radio did not work up front. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

there are  2 fuses for the radio, one on each fuse box
if they are ok check the amplifier tuner in the trunk ,check all the plugs and if you have a tester look for power

in the worse case you need a new radio, you can buy a rebuild for radio from here
