Audio Systems: Surround sound Speakers To Hi Fi, sound speakers, fi system

Question
I have a hi-fi system 1980's seperates, including amp with two sets of of speaker connections. I want to put a second set of speakers to the hi-fi and have obtained a couple of AWA Virtual Surround sound Speaker Decks(TSP-02). Would be OK to use given that the connections are not compatable and I would need to run from the speaker coneections of the hi-fi to the AV/ Jack connections of the speakers. Given that the speakers take direct power themselves, they presumably amplify as well?

Answer
If the impedance of the two sets of speakers (which would be in parallel if you are running both at the same time) does not overload the amplifier you will be okey.  If each set of speakers is 8 ohm ratings will be okey.

The speakers with the rca connects will require the connects to be cut off and the bare wires connected to the B speaker connection terminals of the receiver, depending on what connectors are used....  without model number I can only guess the type of connections you will need to use.

But, the idea you have is ok.
