Questioni have the avr 1010 model Stereo receiver and the protection light is stuck

This seems to be a very popular problem with this particular model, and yet there are no easy answers or manuals to be found online (even from the Denon web archive). It seems that you'll need to try and reset the microprocessor to it's factory settings, but without a manual. this is difficult to hash out.
I think you need to try Denon @ (800) 497-8921. According to the Denon site, they can give you the proper procedure for reinitializing the microprocessor.
Before resetting, double check that you don't have any short circuits with your speaker cables, and that the speakers you're using are rated for the receiver (Low impedance speakers at high volumes for extended periods can cause the amp to overheat and go into protection mode).
