Audio Systems: Car stereo installation, car stereo installation, pontiac montana

Question
I'm installing a pioneer dehp3000ib cd player in 2000 Pontiac Montana. I bought the after factory connector by Scosche Gm035. I connected every thing by color and i get nothing. I even exchanged the stereo and tried again this time soldering the connections before plugging anything in and still nothing help makes no sense to me!

Answer
Does the Pioneer work outside the car; that is, did you check it with external battery power and a stand-alone speaker connected to it?  That way you know it is not a defective player.

This unit is a 22w x 4 channel amplifier so should drive speakers directly.  Have you checked to make sure there is no power amplifier in the Montana that must be either bypassed or connected to (if you are using the amp already in the car you need the remote wire going to the amp to the remote on the pioneer and output from the pioneer going to the inputs of the amplifier).

This expert opinion might help, too.

And, here are the wiring colors for the 2000 Montana:

Do you have and know how to use a VOM (Volt - Ohmmeter)?  If so, that can help you trace the wires and check them one by one to know they are all going to the right places.   You can by an adequate vom for under $10.00 at Walmart or Home Depot.

Hoping this will get you along the way to solving the problem.
