Audio Systems: Line level rca increase needed for sub levels to preamp, line level signal, blue ray dvd player

Question
I am looking for some type of audio component to boost my line level signal between my blue ray RCA audio output signal by at least 10db before going into my Meridian Preamp.  Possibly an equalizer placed between the DVD player and Preamp that has at least 10db gain on at least just one channel might work.  I am using the 6 separate interconnects out of my Denon 3400 dvd player so I can utilize its HD audio decoder that is built into it since the Meridian 861 that I have does not have this decoding built in.  Since the Denon has one interconnect out of the six just for the sub signal I only need to boost this one channel’s low level signal before it reaches the Meridian preamp.

The Denon Blue Ray player has individual bass settings but even with the plus 10db setting in the player itself he sub level is still too low to drive my subs to the proper listening levels.
If I increase the sub levels on my Meridian 861 processor then all other sources drive the subs way too loud and the subs only have one setting. I also use a turntable, satellite boxes and other sources which all work perfectly with the bass setting on the Meridian 861 preamp now so I need something just to boost the low level signal between the Blue Ray dvd player and pre so that I will not have to try and change the settings everytime I switch sources.
The only way I can imagine of fixing this problem is to put something between the low level subwoofer out signal from the Denon 3400 blue Ray player that will boost the signal by at least 10db over the settings set on it already and then into the sub in rca input setting on the Meridian 861.  This should boost the gain signal for the subwoofer only allowing it to get to the levels it needs to be when the Blue Ray is used.
I have read also on posts that this Blue Ray players sub output level is too low.
Am I on the right track about using a equalizer or active subwoofer crossover that has low level RCA inputs and outputs to boost this one channels line level signal for the one channel?  Do you have any better ideas?  Since it is a very high end system I am looking for the absolute best quality and not just the cheapest price.
Let me know what you would recommend to take care of this issue for me and what it would cost and how soon could you get it to me.
Thanks for your help,

Answer
There are many, many line pre/amplifiers that will do the job and since you are a discriminating kind of audiophile you will want to pick one that meets with your expectation.  I suggest you do a google shopping search and then, after choosing 2 or 3, do a review search and study the findings of other users.

The Gemini PA7000 Professional Line Preamp and Input Switcher

(GPA7000XX-P)

is under $100, for example, and has all you would need but it may not be up to your standards of perfection.

In case of the Meridian 861 I think it has lower than average input sensitivity.  I don't know about the Denon BR player; but in the past Denon has always followed the international norm of at least 1v or more output level.   (And most equipment has input sensitivities of somewhere between .3v and .7v).

If you wanted to go the route of a crossover controller the same would apply; there are many to choose from and a google shopping search will give you some starting products to explore.

Hope this helps.  You have a great system.
