Audio Systems: subwoofer installation, kicker l7, crossover frequency

Question
I have 2 15" kicker L7 subs in a ported box. Should I install them in the box the regular way or flip them upside down with the magnent on the outside? I would prefer which ever one is louder...thanks

Answer
You can try it both ways.  However, it probably won't make any significant audible difference.  It may effect the low frequency extension more than anything (due to the fact with the magnet out the internal volume of the cabinet is a little greater; depending on the parameters of the woofer it could make the bass a little deeper).  And, if the crossover frequency it too high it will effect the midrange sound quality (because with the cone facing out it can radiate the higher frequencies more direct).

But, as above, the differences are likely to be small.

Hope this helps.
