Audio Systems: locate factory amp, vehcile, drivers seat

Hi my name is Dan. I just got a 2001 stratus rt. I want to replace all the factory speaker with new one but im having problems locating the factory amp because my left side speaker doesn't work but the right side do.a friend said that it might be a bad amp. Where would the factory amp be located on my vehcile?

Answer
The stock amp is usually under the passenger seat, bolted down by 2 or 3 bolts.  It could be mounted elsewhere, however, as manufacturers move them around all the time, even in same year models.

If not under the passenger seat, look under the drivers seat or in the trunk side panels.  They are very clever at hiding them sometimes!
