Audio Systems: AMP BATTERY, pioneer vsxax5i, amp battery

Hello Dan i own a pioneer vsxax5i receiver amp. If i shut down power after a few days all the settings are erased and factory settings applied i think i need to replace internal battery can you tell me where it is located. i can see a small watch looking battery on main control ass,y board is this the one .....many thanks Steve

I don't know your model specifically, but what you are describing would be a battery and I would start with changing that.  In more modern units, capacitors are used rather than true batteries.  The confusing part though, is that normally, the only time a battery comes into play is when there is total power loss.  In otherwords, when the unit is unplugged.  I will make a few inquiries here, because you should not be losing the presets just because the unit is off.
