my battery died and it asks for a code for the audio system to work, i need to get that code.

Answer
It comes with the car when new.  The code is contained with the original papers on the car. The dealer can get it for you but you must show proof of ownership in order for them to order it up.  It may cost $20 or $30 to obtain the code.

The purpose of the code is to make the radio useless for someone who steals the radio out of someones car.

Some online firms such as the one above claim they can get the codes for you, too. I have never used them, but some say they are safe to use.
