Audio Systems: lost sound on my tv, disc recorders, left speaker

QUESTION: all's well,suddenly,i have no audio on my tv.new cable box,but everything was smooth after installation.weeks passed by,well & good.not even hissing sound when i disconnect it from the box.picture is perfect but no sound.what do i have to do?thanks for your time.


ANSWER: Sounds like you muted the speakers. Go into the menus of the TV. Audio options and un-mute it.

If that doesn't work try a video source like a DVD or VHS. Tell me what happens.

QUESTION: I did as you said,but the same result.there's a thud-thud-thud sound on my left speaker whenever i adjust the volume.I think it's telling me to buy a new tv.Thanks for your help anyway.I'll pass the word around about your site.Have a pleasant evening.

If you have a cable box then you don't need the TV for sound. Take the signal out of the cable box. If you have a VCR, some types of DVD players or video hard disc recorders you can see if there is an audio output (RCA's). It's cheaper than buying a TV.
