Audio Systems: no sound, external amplifier, audio amplifier

ok i've had my aftermarket stereo in my suv for a few years now and it's always worked fine until a few days ago when the sound kept going up and down until it eventually stopped.i was just curious to what the problem could be because i get nothing out of it and at first if i turned it up almost all the way i'd hear a little bit but now there is nothing at all but i dont know if i should mention but i have a dvd player and the tv and cd player on it works fine just no sound. if u have any suggestions i would greatly appreciate it. thank u

Audio amplifier has failed.

You will have to take it in for repair or replacement.

My suspicion is the audio power module has failed - or the external amplifier if your system has one.

My second suspicion is the power wires are not making good connection to the power module.  Check the wires all the way from the battery to the unit/amp and if you have a vom check the 12v lines carefully.
