Audio Systems: Ford JBL Audio System, ford explorer sport, jbl amps

Question
Hello,  I have a 1994 Ford Explorer Sport.  I found an Eddie Bauer Ford Explorer Sport at the junkyard and was able to salvage the 4 door speakers and the two amps that were in the rear.  I installed the door speakers with my current head unit and they sound great.  I want to add an 8" sub like the Eddie Bauer had.  Do you reccomend that I have the two amps that I salaveged installed?  I don't want to throw away the nice JBL amps but I don't think there is much of a need for the door speaker amp.  My new door speakers are working fine, without the amps.  I would like to be able to use the sub amp but the two amps seem to be dependant on each other.  There are no conventional inputs or a volume control.  Would I be better off buying a new amp and sub?

Answer
One of the boxes is an amp for the sub, and the other is the control unit for the premium head unit. you can tell because the radio antenna plugs into it. You would have to swap the premium head unit, CD changer, radio antenna cable, and complete harness to do this. It's not impossible, but it would be a ton of extra work. I would recommend using the sub with an after market amp, and use the speaker outputs from the Ford deck to the speaker inputs on the amp.
