Audio Systems: ford cd changers, auto recycler, ford units

i have a ford 868 series radio in my 2000 ranger and would like to add a 6 cd changer.  there seem to be so many ford units.  which would fit and what type of cable would i need to connect.  the radio has a 13 pin plugin available for this connection.  thank you

You need the radio to changer harness that came from Ford. Ordering this from Ford parts is stupid expensive. If you have your heart set on doing this, you need to find an identical year/model/style vehicle at an auto recycler and buy the harness, mounts, changer, etc. It can be a huge job, because the factory harness usually was connected to other things like seatbelts, heater, etc. Have you considered just adding an ipod?
