Audio Systems: jvc audio visual, protection mode, factory defaults

i have a jvc audio video reciever model rx 5052, is there anyway of reseting to factory defaults a mate of mine got clever and after too many buttons being pressed the sound no longer gets to the speakers, please help

Hard reset, which restores all internal soft codes to factory preset conditions is done by unplugging the power cord for at least 1 hour.  They power it up again.

BUT: I suspect your unit has developed trouble and has gone into protection mode.  If so, it will need servicing or replacement.  Let me know if you have questions after trying the hard reset.
