Audio Systems: Jensen CD2010x, stranger things, jensen cd2010x

I have the Jensen Cd200x and am looking for a parts breakdown.  The was a loose gear inside the cd player.  When I opened it to replace the gear I found a spring laying inside. I would like to know where the spring goes. I can't see a spot for it.

Parts explosion diagrams and parts lists are contained within the service manual.  They are generally available from the manufacturer or various other sources at a cost; anywhere from $15 to $30.

I cannot help without seeing the spring and being able to identify the context of its application.

Does it run without it?  Maybe it fell in the works by accident and does not belong to your unit!  Stranger things have happened.

On the other hand, the loose gear maybe came loose due to the spring coming disconnected, taking tension off the gear and it worked loose of the shaft it was mounted to.

Jensen is probably made by some other manufacturer such as funai or NEC or such.  See if you can find the manufacturer that actually made it; that may help you find the parts listing.
