Audio Systems: Car Stereo, voice coils, cheap speakers

Question
Hello, I have 2 12" Phoenix Digital squares. They each have 1000W max power, and I can not find the RMS rating, I'm assuming it is around 500W for each. The impedance on them is 4 ohms. I'm wondering what size of amp would be the best to hook them up to. I would like to get as much bass out of them as possible. Your help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Answer
The box is more important than the amp. Make sure it's designed for the air space those speakers require, tubes, vents, sealed, whatever.
You can have an amp with more output power than your speakers are rated for. Your amp will not be running at maximum all the time anyway. The guideline is; you might blow cheap speakers with an expensive amp, but you WILL blow expensive speakers with a cheap amp. Your speakers should be very high quality if made by Phoenix Gold. Set your levels by running the head unit at 85% volume, and the inputs on the amp adjusted to where there is no distortion. Distorted signals will heat up your voice coils and ruin them eventually.
