Audio Systems: Lights and cd player, ford taurus, dims

Question
Whenever I turn my lights on my cd player turns off, I have an after market cd player (Kenwood). My car is a 91 ford Taurus, this just started happening recently, also i have an amp and two 10s.

that's weird.  this may sound kinda crazy but if you have a dimmer for the interior lights, turn it all the way up and see if that helps.  your stereo may be wired wrong and using the dimmer to tell it to turn on, since the dimmer only dims when the headlights go on but is usually full blast during the day when the headlights are off, the voltage would drop if the dimmer was in a lower position and only do so when you flick the lights on.
If this is the case we can either rewire it, or just leave your dimmer up.
Try that first since its a simple fix.  if not we'll try something else.
