Audio Systems: codes for cd playe, factory cd, bose

Question
QUESTION: a friend took out my cd playe to ty and hook up an amp. now it wont work is asking for codes
ANSWER: That is an anti-theft device in action.  If you own the CD player, you should know the codes or have them stored in the manual that came with it, which hopefully you saved.  You can also try taking it back to the store where you bought it for help.

If it's stolen, well, why not return it to the owner, because it will never work for you, you won't be able to unlock the codes.  I'm not suggesting it is, but if it is, best to just return it, it will never work and is worth nothing.  Cheers, Wink

QUESTION: it is the factory cd player 6 disk changer with bose

Answer
Well, hopefully you have the original documentation that came with it, which would have the codes to turn off this anti-theft device.  They should have come with the documentation, and I advise every to always keep everything that comes with electronics, and in the cases like this with codes or serial numbers for software, I suggest keeping a list somewhere else as well as a backup.  If you don't have those codes, then the best you can do is take it to an authorize Bose dealer, who should be able to "unlock" it for you or at least reset the codes.  Good luck!  Cheers, Wink
