Audio Systems: fault in tv sound system, screen menus, sony tv

i have SONY tv at home.It has some problem in its sound system.It has no output sound.where is the fault ,and how i can repair it myself.i am studying Electronics engineering, 6th semester.

you didn't say what model year or model you have, so it's a little difficult to troubleshoot. could be from speakers being turned off from one of the on screen menus to some models have output device included within the ic voltage regulator. it's a lot like me saying i have a ford that won't start without telling you which year and so forth. tv sets change drastically from model to model, year to year...
