Audio Systems: help plez, seperate boxes, amp max

ok i have recently installed a 795 watt jenson amp hooked up to 2 kicker ds693 3-way series 6x9s both in seperate boxes and i have 2 explore 800 watt peak subs both in seperate boxes hooked up to a 1200 watt amp when i turn my system up to around 30 after a few minutes one of my 6x9s start to smoke is this because i need a smaller amp running to them or what? and it still works fine but do you think it damaged it in any way? thank you for your time

Basic rule of thumb is speakers should be rated 50% over MAX amp output, sounds like you may have overcooked it, in more ways than one.
ie, 798 watts / 2 = 399 watts per channel, so speakers should be rated at least at 450 watts EACH
1200 amp - 600 watts per channel so subs should be at least 900 watts
Take your 6x9s', double wattage to make for pair and divide by 3 and then times 2 and that's your amp max output, or get bigger speakers.
