Audio Systems: Vandalized Steering Column, fuel pump relay, passkey systems

I replaced my steering column and repaired the cut wires I think that the factory security system is activated when I crank the truck (1998 Yukon)It will run for a second and kill the security light is flashing in the dash.How can I reset the system?

The key cylinder (not the key) hold the code on these early passkey systems. It will have to go back to a GM dealership for reprogramming. Yes, you will have to get it towed...UNLESS you have the tech ability to run power to the fuel pump relay, as that is what the early systems would shut off. We usually install a jumper from pin 30 to pin 87 to get the truck to the dealership. Don't quote me, use a multimeter and check for yourself before plugging in a jumper.
