Nissan Repair: 2004 Maxima stalls when idling, 2004 nissan maxima, nissan maxima

Question
I have a 2004 Nissan Maxima (Auto Transmission) that has stalled twice while idling at a traffic light. Once I restarted the engine, the RPM needle went up but the engine was very slow (STRUGGLING) to accelerate. After the car sat for awhile, it ran fine when started again. I have also noticed the transmission slipping between first and second gear. Please HELP!!!

Hi Cheryl -

My recommendation is to always check the obvious first. When was the last tune up you had, and what was replaced? Have you checked the level of your transmission fluid, and also when was the last time the transmission oil and filter screen were changed?

How is the car running now? Does it miss up hills or under load?

Any info you can give me would be great on the above questions. helps for a better diagnosis -
