Audio Systems: 95 Dodge Stratus has no bass., infinity system, speaker grills

Question
My wife's 1995 Dodge Stratus has the factory stereo radio w/ CD changer. It has no bass. tried the slider and nothing. It sounds very tinny. I purchased another radio and it does the same thing. Why can't I get any bass? Does it have something to do with the CD changer? That is mounted separate below in the console and my wife says the CD disk number doesn't match the disk being played also.

Answer
a few things this may be, there are little tiny 3.5" speakers up in the dash that are incapable of making bass but the doors have 6.5" speakers and the rear has 6x9 speakers.  the radio may be faded to the front so the bigger speakers arent helping much.  put your ear on the door speakers and rear speakers and see if they're doing anything in comparison to the dash speakers.
the stratus was also available with an infinity system that has an amplifier which may have blown, if you see the word infinity on the speaker grills or anywhere in the car, this may be the problem.  but if you dont see infinity it's probably just the fade issue I mentioned above, or the other speakers may be blown.  It's possible on a coax speaker (speaker with a woofer and a tweeter together) to blow the woofer but not the tweeter so you'd have tons of scratchy tinny trebbel and no bass.  again listen to the door speakers and rear speakers, if you hear trebbel coming from them but no bass, then the woofers may have blown,  if you hear nothing, then it's the fade or the amp issue.
Good luck, let me know how it goes please!
