i think i brunt a channel out in my head unit i went to wall mart and bought a 30 dollar cd player hooked it up and everything works. so does a brunt channel sound right to you

i have a Kenwood kvt715dvd head unit and i don't have any sound coming out of the speakers when i have sirus on or a cd in or the tuner i have power going to all the speakers but no sound comes out if i turn it all the way up it cracks a little bit but no music i don't no anything else to check can you help me thanks

ok, so you never get any sound from the speakers no matter what source you put on.  sounds like maybe the car has a factory amplifier that isn't turning on.  either that or the wiring is wrong.
What's the year make and model of the car and do you see "infinity" or "bose" written anywhere on the speaker grills or the old stereo?

well a single "burnt channel" would make just one speaker dead,  if they are all dead you may have burn the entire amplifier inside the cd player.  this happens.  how old is it?

well, it sounds to me that the amplifier section of the unit just fried.  if the other one works and your old one doesnt, I'm posative that's it.
The amps that are built into cd players are basically just one big chip so if they fry, the whole thing goes out.
