Audio Systems: Anti Theft Lock on Factory Audio System in a 1999 Pontiac Sunfire, override code, pontiac sunfire

Question
Hi Ernesto,

I just recently bought a Pontiac Sunfire 1999, for my daughter, and she kind of miss calculated a turn and went over a median. Both airbags deployed and the front drivers side wheel caved under.

The car has been repaired externally and is back on the road, but we can't get the stereo, AM/FM CD player to work. It has a anti theft lock button with a light which is blinking and in the digital display it says LOC. I am assuming that this needs to be reset or somthing and was wondering if you could help me out with this.

Is there a way to get the code or instructions on how to reset this system by looking on the internet or by calling someone?

Any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Debbie

Answer
Try this,
Press & hold the 2 & 3 buttons @ the same time for about 10 seconds; a 2 or 3 digit code will appear, write this # down, press & hold the am/fm button for about 10 seconds: another code will appear, write this # down, then call 1-888-231-0395  and give them the number  that you wrote down from your radio that will cost 25.00 and they will give you a 3 or 4 digit override code. Write this code # down  . Enter this # into your radio following the instructions in your owners manual. If you get an override code that starts with 0, you drop the 0 when entering the code into your radio.
If you don't have an owners manual, try this, press & hold the hour button until the first 2 digits of your code come up, then press & hold the minute button until the last 2 digits show. Then press the am/fm button. This should reset your stereo
