Audio Systems: What amp should I purchase?, rear bench seat, bazooka bass tube

Question
I have a jeep wrangler with the top down most of the year here in AZ. I have a pioneer deh-p6600 hu. I used to have a bazooka 8" 100w powered base tube in the back. Well I would disconect it at night and take in in the house with me. It worked pretty good untill the amp fried. I checked the woofer and its fine. I want to remove my rear bench seat and mount an amp then re install the seat. Problem is I'm not sure what amp to purchase. I would like to power the rear speakers and a sub off of the amp.Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Eric

Answer
well I dont know if the speaker inside a bazooka bass tube is a 2,4,8 ohm speaker.  If you put a meter on the coil of the speaker (or coils if there are 2) you should get an ohm rating that will be close to the ohms of the speaker.  round up to the nearest incriment of 2,4,8 ohms so if it shows 3.xx then it's a 4 ohm, if it shows 6.xxx then it's an 8 ohm usually.
I would recomend an amp like this for this setup:(depending on the ohms of course.  I'm assuming its a 4 ohm sub)

its a 4 channel amp where you can bridge 2 of the 4 channels for the sub and use the other 2 channels to run speakers.  it also has independant crossovers built in to highpass the internal speakers and lowpass the sub.
BUT I would definatly run the front speakers off the amp NOT the rears.  pushing your sound stage up to the front of the vehicle produces a more realitic sound than having everything behind you.

let me know how it goes
