Audio Systems: Installation of JVC Stereo/CD in 97 Mazda 626, metal tabs, mazda 626

Question
Thanks for the help!  I found out that I am missing the sleeve that you talked about.  My brother gave me this stereo when he upgraded to another one and forgot to put it in the box.  If he can't find it, can I buy another one or is there some way I can make one or retrofit the stereo somehow? I enjoy tinkering with stuff, so of course that would give me a reason to do it. ( Just kidding.)
Again, thanks and hopefully I can get it finished soon -
Have a great week.

Question -
I am trying to replace the orginal stereo in my 97 mMada 626 with a JVC Ks-RT520 with changer.  I have the wiring harness hooked up and have tested it to see if the system works and it does.  I just can't figure out a way to mount it in the dash.  I bought the after market mounting kit, but nothing in it seems to fit or will work.  This is the first time I have ever tried to change one out and I am stumped.  The instructions don't make much sense on the kit either.  The original stereo had spring clips on either side that held it in to the dash opening. No places for mounting screws.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I have no problem removing the panels to and other interior details to finish the job - just need to see some sort of schematic that will show me how to mount it.
Thanks!!
Sandra

well the mounting kits need to have your year make and model vehicle specificaly listed as being compatible   if not get the right kit.  if so the kit may be for your car and many others and if so it will have alot of pieces that you will probably end up not using.  usually the kits will screw into the car but the stero has a metal sleeve that will go into the kit and you can bend little metal tabs on this sleeve to lock it into the dash kit.  after this if you are still haveing alot of trouble I would sugest going to www.crutchfield.com and clicking "find what fits my car" fill out the info and click that you need a dash kit.  make sure that they include the instruction sheet.  they will give you step by step instructions specific to your car and the kit you get.  you cant go wrong there.
Good luck and let me know how it goes please!

Answer
hey no problem!  I swore I found a place where you could get sleeves online but I cant find it now.  I just searched all over!  I found a guy on eBay that has some but they're not universal, they seem to be specific to the make of the cd player.  this particular link's sale has ended but you can see on the link the other ones he has avialable.  you can click the button to "ask seller a question" and ask him if he has one for your unit.
