Audio Systems: cd unit reset, mark thanks, quick response

Hi mark,
thanks for a very quick response. I got myself a meter to work out
which wire does what. When I determine this, the wire which is only
on when the ignition key is in should that be disconected (the red
one from your answer)?

Answer
you need to find 1 wire that is posative (about 12.5 volts) all the time and you need to find 1 wire that is posative only when the key is in the on and run positions.
These both need to go to the right wire on the cd player for it to work right. USUALLY BUT NOT ALWAYS there will be a red wire on the cd player, this goes to the switching one and there should be a yellow wire which will go to the constant one.
