Audio Systems: turntable hook-up, capacitance cables, output impedance

Question
Hello I was looking into a turntable a the station I want it at in my room is on the the other side of the room is there any long enogh wire or something wireless that I can use to connect the mixer to get to the amplifer?
Thanks for the website ,really!!!BYE....

Answer
You should not run long cables from the output of a turntable to the preamp.  Doing so will effect the sound quality.  Keep the cables less than 4 feet in length.

The output of a preamp/mixer can run a very long distance to the inputs of the amplifier. Check the output impedance of your preamp, but most of them will allow you to run good low capacitance cables up to 100 feet with out too much high frequency loss.

Let me know if you need more.  Give me the make and model of the equipment you are using so I can check into their specifications..... or you can do it by yourself since you are a station man!

Wishing you the best,
