Audio Systems: laptop to car radio connection, car cd player, headphone jack

Question
I know this is probably a really stupis sounding question, but as I know nothing about audio connections in general, I was wondering if purchasing a cable with two male adapters and putting one into the headphone jack on my laptop and the other into the MP3 jack on my CD player face would allow me to listen to my library on my laptop with decent quality.  My Ipod just broke on me and I really dont have the money to get another one (no warranty, bought it from a friend), I'd really appreciate it if you could drop me a quick line on this.

Answer
Not stupid at all in fact if I think I know what you're saying you are correct.  I think you are saying that you have a car cd player that has an input jack on it. and you want to connect it to your laptop for playing MP3s.  If this is what you are saying then yes it will work, go ahead.  make sure the male to male 1/8" jacks have 3 separate metal parts on each connector not 2 since 2 would be a mono jack.  Radioshack and other people sell both so get the right one.
should work fine.
Good luck, please let me know if this is what you were talking about and how it turns out!
