Audio Systems: Problem with 86 Australian Corolla Seca audio wiring, socket connector, rear speaker

Question
Hi. Last year i bought a cd/radio player for my corolla when my previous one died. I got my mechanic to install it. Unfortunately, he only connected the front speakers.
I removed the radio and examined the wires. They were all connecting into a socket with 9 connectors. There were 6 wires going in, namely:
+12V
Ground
R. Front Speaker(+)
R. Front Speaker(-)
L. Front Speaker (+)
L. Front Speaker (-)

Logic would tell me that i need another 4 connections, namely:
R. Rear Speaker(+)
R. Rear Speaker(-)
L. Rear Speaker (+)
L. Rear Speaker (-)

However, there are only 3 more connections available on the 9 socket connector.

There is, however, another single connector that is seperate to the 9 connector. I'm confused as to what thats for.

Could you offer any advice?

Regards,
Michael.

If yours if different, then you can still test with a 1.5 volt battery (AA or AAA) with a wire soldered onto each end. I strip back 1cm on the end of the wire, and solder it just so it does not fray, and makes a good testing connection. Then you can touch the battery leads across a pair of wires to see if they are speaker leads. It should produce a crackle. If the speaker moves out, you polarity (+ and -) is correct. If it moves inwards, your polarity is backwards.
