My head unit is a Kenwood KDC-x979....The switch simply turns the remote lead on and off for the amp and capacitor since the cap i have is a 12 farad with distribution intergrated into it (Model#: SHDAH12) ....Ok well there are no neon lights on the equiptment ....and i used 0 Guage Stinger expert series for all of my wiring. I have a 0 guage goin from my battery to the circuit breaker then to the cap and from there i have 2 ground and 2 power leads running to the amps the size wire used for this is 4 guage and is still expert series stinger....The main 0 guage power wire is run along the side of the car on the drivers side under the door sill then too the trunk.

Answer -
Could you explain it in a little more detail? I am having a hard time understanding what the problem is.

Be sure and give me the make and model of the system you installed in the Eclipse.

Is the FM radio part of the in-dash system or the trunk mounted system?

Let me know more.

Ok I get exactly what you're saying, although it's strange. More info may help,
Is this a factory head unit or aftermarket?  How is the switch wired?  does it simply turn on and off the remote lead going to the amp?  Are there any "neon" lights on the equipment?  what gauge wire for power and ground to the cap and amp are you using and where did you run your wire leads to? If you can tell me the exact path of the main power wire that would be nice.
Thank you.

i have seen a few instances where digital displays give off interference.  I would remove the remote wire from the Capacitor since it's really not nessesary,  see if that helps.  other than that I'm kinda stumped.
Please let me know what happens ok?
Thanks

Answer
I doubt very highly that the ouput of the capacitor is switched on and off by the remote wire,  the remote wire should simply turn the leds and displays on.
Please try running the remote wire directly to the amp only.  In fact if you just pull the remote wire off the amp and put a small piece of wire between the posative of the amp and the remote line on the amp so that your entire remote wire is unused and off that would be the best for testing.  I'm pretty posative that it will turn on and we can see if the displays and such are what's causing your interference problem.
Please let me know.
