Audio Systems: Car stereo... CD player very hot, stereo cd, car stereo

We have just installed a cd player in our 96 Cavalier and it feels very hot. Is that normal or is there something wrong?

Answer
Well, it depends on what you call hot.

If it is hot to touch; that is a sensation of burning your finger it is too hot.

But, auto players do get warm.  

If it is working alright and everything seems to be normal and the unit cools down when you turn it off, maybe it is okey.
