Audio Systems: Jensen CD8004, memory wire, memory settings

Question
I recently had my car fixed at a Ford dealership and they apparently had to take off the entire dash of my car to fix the problem.  Since I got my car back, every time I start my car, my stereo ejects the cd and turns off.  Why would it do this? Is there a way that I can fix it?  I'm super confused about it all.  Also, I'm wondering about the clock in the cd player.  Is there a way to set the time so that it is correct?

Answer
well I would say take it back to the dealership and complain but if it's an after market cd player they probably wont touch it even if they did do something.  Does it only do this when you start the car or as soon as you turn the key to the first or second postion before starting the car?  if its the latter it sounds like what they did was rewire it so that both power wires are being shut off when the key is taken out.  after market cd players have 2 power wires, one that needs to be on all the time to retain memory/settings etc. and one that it switched on with the key being in the on and run postitions.  Most cd players will go into eject mode when they are hooked up as a safety in case there is something stuck in there.  so that tells me that every time you turn your car on it thinks its the first time its turning on so it ejects.  when wired properly the memory wire that has power all the time keeps that from happening.  you will need to remove the cd player and check the wires.  once you have it out, write me back and let me know what colors the wires are.  there should be a yellow, red and black that may be slightly thicker than the others,  this is what we want to see, I have a feeling the yellow and red are connected to the same place which they shouldnt be. If it only shuts off when starting the car and not when just turning the key to on I would say that your car battery is going bad and needs replacing,  what happening is that the draw from starting the car is dropping the power so low that the memory wire to the cd player is basically shutting off and the cd player thinks its beeing hooked up and again goes into eject mode.
Let me know.
Good luck!
