Audio Systems: AMP usage and power, ohm voice coils, kicker cvr

Question
Cleggsan...

Whats up man...
I got 3 Memphis Mclass MCD500 -1 Channel Mono Amps
I want to put 3 15's in my escalade 1 amp to each what kind of sub is best suited for this power and will I have to get a new alternator and spare battery? I also have an orion 4 channel amp for my mid's and highs I have not hooked up... But am looking to do so all at one time. I was looking at kicker cvr's and would it be best in 2 or 4 ohom?

Answer
That is a terrific sub amp and should handle the 15 inch jobs real well.

4 Ohm woofers are always safer and pound the amp lower than do 2 ohm jobs.  I would opt for the 4 ohm if it were me, but I am a conservative user.  If you want more power and the woofers can handle it, then go for the 2 ohm voice coils.  But expect quicker breakdown and more heat from the amps.  (And probably shorter time between breakdowns, too.)

Orion is good; you will have a migthy system; would like to hear is someday when you get it all fired up.

Choose the woofers on sensitivity (higher is better), impedance, low frequency free air resonance (lower is better), power handlying or XMax (or maximum cone excursion).   Power handling is important, too.

Good Luck;
