CRACKLIN SOUND COMING OUT OF THE SPEAKERS. I TRIED SEVERAL DIFFERENT CD'S TO MAKE SURE IT WASN'T 1 BAD CD.YOU CAN HEAR A LITTLE MUSIC BEHIND THE CRACKLING SOUND.SO TO TRY TO HELP YOU IT'S CRACKLING WHEN I PLAY A CD.

I HAVE A 2002 DODGE DURANGO. RECENTLY WHEN I PUT A CD IN I GET A CRACKLING SOUND. I TRIED A CD CLEANER AND GOT THE SAME SOUND. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE IS ANYTHING ELSE I CAN TRY.

sounds like the laser is having trouble reading the cd or it could be going out of "tracking" where the laser isnt aimed into the tracks of the cd properly.
These can only be fixed by taking the unit apart and cleaning or re-aiming (very difficult).
Unfortunatly there isnt much else to do but replace the unit.
Since it's pretty much dead at this point, you cant do too much more damage so trying to take it apart and clean it cant hurt much.
