Audio Systems: Faceplate, cd mp3 player, pioneer cd

Question
Thanks.  The only thing it does when it doesn't open is give the standard "beep".  I have had trouble a few times with the disc sticking inside when it has opened and it seems to randomly solve its own issues... eventually it opens and I frantically search for something that I can withstand listening to for weeks, one hand on the wheel, the other rushing to fill that precious space on my stereo! :)  Not to be dramatic, but it is a little frustrating.  I bought it new in a sealed box off of e-bay and had it installed down here in Mex. so I am not sure if the warranty would still apply.  As far as the remote, haven't tried that. Will do.  Just seems odd that eventually it works, just seems to have a will of its own...

Question -
I recently had a new Pioneer CD/MP3 player installed with an automatic faceplate.  The problem is that sometimes it just doesn't open. This has left me spending weeks listening to the same music over and over again! :)  What can I do about this, if anything?  The other thing is that i live out of the country so I cannot return it to the manufacturer... I have to be able to fix it myself.  Could it be a wiring problem or is it for sure defective?  Thanks!

Does the unit attempt to open at all?  does it make any "motor" or "gear" type noises when you try to eject the cd?  I had trouble with an alpine unit that it would stick and not open but you could see and hear it trying. If it doesn’t respond at all there is probably something wrong inside that would be very difficult to fix. maybe a broken switch if you're lucky.  if its still under warranty you should be able to use international shipping to return it.  If the face is removable there's a chance that a new face could fix the problem,  maybe one could be located on eBay.
Does the unit have a remote with eject on it?  does this work?

Answer
Well if it beeps every time you push the eject button then the switch is working and sending a signal to open.  the motor may be bad or have a loose connection? sorry,  they incorrectly listed me as a repair person here,  I'm not a repair person, I'm more of a designer.
