Audio Systems: 98 plymouth voyage stereo on and off, clock mode, radio mode

Question
Sir/Madam:
Thanks very much for the fast response.
You mentioned plug is dirty? What and which plug is that? I have taken the whole stereo out and taken apart of it. It lookes very clean. I checked on/off button and other connections, they seemed all fine. When I turn the radio on, it clicks, but just not switch to radio mode and kept on with clock mode. Then some time, it will just do like you have said "click clik turs on or off when ever it wants to". You also mentioned some thing about relay? Is there a relay for the stereo after we turn on the radio, then relay to radio mode from clock mode?

Thanks again for responding to my question. Have a great Memorial Holiday.

the stereo with tape on the car sudddently quit working, but will come on and off often. When it is come on, it will have a click sound like a solenoids or some thing get connected, then disconnected. The clock displace will also fast switch between clock and radio frequency. I think the stereo is still good, also it may not a problem some where has a bad connection, rather some thing like a solenoids goes bad which controls the switching between clock and radio when we turn on the radio. I just don't know what is it and where to find one. Thanks a millinion in advance for your help.

Answer -
i seen this problem many times the radio makes a click clik turs on or off when ever it wants to  the relay noise for the amplifier and are not the reason why the radio is turning on or off
there is condensation behind the radio because the ac system  sometimes the plug is dirty and needs to be clean with a small sand paper  most of the time the condensation gets inside the radio and you need to replace it
here is a good place for radios

www.oemautosound.com  that radio will about 70 to 80.00

Answer
thak you there is a relay but it is not for the stereo
the radio uses that relay to turn on the antenna and amplifier

if you have a tester meter check for 2 power wires on the plug
if you have 2 the radio is defective

look at this to find the power wires
