Audio Systems: Stereo Power 97 sunfire, mp3 cd player, car radios

Ok I have a 97 sunfire,I am replacing the radio throwing in my mp3/cd player. Now I am by no means an expert but have changed  car radios on more then one occasion. What happened this time is the power wire had already been splice further back in the dash (did not know tihs used car) and I unfortunately turned at a funny angle with it in my hand and it came loose. So no problem I will just look under the dash around the steering and what not to find the wire reconnect it and were off. (Or so I thought....) I have looked averywhere for a stray wire back there and cannot find nothing. So I guess my question is how can I replace the power wire at the source and run a completely new one, or do you know of any work around for this?

run a new wire from the radio red to the ignition wires,
there is two that you can tap into  the orange or the pink wires  
this are next to the steering colum this wires are inside a black loom and tape together  
you will find
red
yellow
orange
pink
white
